History Kedron Valley Inn got its start in 1822 as a store and community gathering place in Woodstock, Vt. In 1828 a Main House was built as an inn and tavern. Additional buildings were subsequently build, others were list, and, according to the history provided on the Kedron Valley Inn website, "rumors and historical documents indicate that the inn was a stop on the eastern Underground Railroad for fugitive slaves."
The inn was known as the Colonial inn unitl the mid 1900s when it became the Kedron Valley Inn. In 1960 Paul Kendall, an eighth generation Woodstock resident, and his wife Barbara bought the Kedron Valley Inn. Paul Kendall was listed as the contact person in cross country directories and he and his family owned and operated the inn through 1985. The Kedron Valley Inn was listed in directories between 1981 and 1985 when it was sold by the Kendall family to Max and Merrily Comins. During that time the inn offered trails (which continually decreased in size according to listings) on their 360 acres of farmland and connected to Woodstock Touring Center's trail network. Today the Kedron Valley Inn still operates in Woodstock, Vt. They no longer offer cross country skiing at the inn, but their website recommends skiing at nearby Woodstock Cross Country Ski Center.
