History

The Inn in the Common was purchased in 1973 by Michael and Penny Schmitt. The Inn on the Common was listed in cross country directories form 1976-1981. There was a major trail expansion in 1979 when they went from offering only 13 km the previous year to 47 miles of trails. By a 1999 travel guide (but likely much soon) The Inn on the Common was linked up with Craftsbury Nordic Ski Center's 110 km trail network and the inn even guarenteed snow for skiing from January through mid-March or your money back.

In 2003 the Schmitt's sold the Inn on the Common to Jim and Judi Lamberti. Today, the Inn on the Common is no longer in operation.
