History

High Pond Ski Area was predominantly an alpine area in Hubbardton, near Brandon, Vt., from the late 1940s/early 1950s on.  In a 1971 ski guide, High Pond was listed with other alpine areas as offering cross country trails.  It did not appear in cross country directories again until 1984 ans 1985 where it was listed as having 15 km of trails operated by John and Sherry Armitage.  High Pond has been out of operation since the late 1980s.
