History

Aside from being listed in two separate 1993 Vermont cross country directories, there is not much information available about Amiski Cross Country Center.  The only additional information comes from John R. Fitzgerald's 1994 Cross Country: Northeast: "South of Stowe outside the village of Duxbury (Waterbury) is the recently opened Amiski Cross Country Center (Ami=Italian for friend) with 15 groomed kilometers.  It is practically in the front yard of the Grunberg Haus Bed & Breakfast with its distinctive Austrian decor, easy to notice on the right driving up Route 100."

The entry from The Vermont Winter Guide 1993-1994 reads:  "Amiski X/C Ctr., Duxbury (Waterbury 05673).  15 km machine tracked, 15 km skating lanes, 15 km total trails.  1550' low elevation, 1925' high elevation.  Nordic instruction, retail shop, equipment repairs.  Nearby lodging.  $6.00 weekend trail fee."
