Mountains - Rockwell went on to be a forest ranger at Inyo National Forest. He established the Eastern Sierra Interpretative Association.
Film liaison for "Lassie" filmed in the Patriarch Grove of the Bristlecone Forest in 1972, for Forest Service.
At 81 carried the 2002 Olympic torch in the Lake Tahoe region.
