First skiing experience

Dartmouth Outing Club introduced him to skiing and that began   his lifelong passion for skiing.
 
  He joined the Appalachian Mountain Club in 1930.

What was your experience in the 10th like?

Henry finished his training at Camp Hale but never went to   Europe; he was assigned to the infantry replacement program in Louisiana.   When his age was discovered, he volunteered for the American Red Cross as a   Field Director and went to Guam and the South Pacific."

Why did you join the 10th?

He enlisted in 1942 at the age of 42 because he wanted to be in   the 10th.

After coming to check out Stowe, he ended up purchasing a lodge   near Mad River Glen, named "the Perkins." He managed food service   at Sugarbush for 25 years.
