First skiing experience

"Jack first skied on weekend trips to North Creek, New   York, in the early 1940s, while living in New York City."

Other early experiences include ski-jorring on barrel staves   behind cars in the Bronx and taking the ski train to Bousquet's near   Pittsfield, MA.
