Pico Peak - "After discharge from the army, Karl Acker got me a job at Pico Peak for the winter. No snow - wound up at Long Trail Lodge - general flunkie - food etc. Spring '46 gave up my idea of owning a ski lodge - found that the Dog Team Tavern was idle for 4 1/2 years. Bought the tavern and the rest is history!"
